Obtain a Special Education Endorsement

in 9 Months

Expand your teaching practice and empower students with disabilities in Seattle University's nationally recognized and accredited Special Education endorsement program. Designed for certified teachers who hold either a bachelor’s or a master’s degree, this 24-credit program can be completed in 9 months and prepares you for the required WEST-E exam.

Customize your endorsement to your learning style. Choose between two instruction models.

  • Hybrid Endorsement Program: A combination of online and in-person classes in the late afternoon, evenings and summer.

  • Online Academy: A fully online program consisting of 8 one-month classes that meet in virtual, synchronous sessions twice a week in the evenings.

Discover SU’s social justice difference. Seattle University’s Special Education endorsement program embeds a social justice and student advocacy lens into every course. Whether you’re studying Multicultural and Multilingual Issues in Learning, or School Consultation and Intervention — you’ll also be questioning the effects of privilege and bias on under-represented and marginalized populations. Our students are trained to become leaders of transformative change in their classrooms, schools, communities and districts.
